About

What is ‘Gila Green’?

In the Indonesian and Malay language, ‘gila’ means crazy, madness, insanity, bizarre or even fantastic. (I vote for fantastic!)

Whereas ‘Green’ can mean something that is environment friendly, or simply someone who is an environmentalist.

So you put it all together and what do you get? Someone who is just loco for the environment!

Who is kookaburra?

My forest name is kookaburra. A kookaburra is a kingfisher (bird) commonly found in Australia and New Guinea. Its call or ‘chirp’ (if you can call it that) sounds like a laugh, but more like a mocking laugh to me. And I love to laugh and occasionally mock as well, but don’t be discouraged if I do; it is out of love ;) . (And I swear I am not laughing now).

I love writing, singing and swimming. I live on an island with my family in a cosy home, but I would like to travel one day.

What inspired you to start this blog?

A few inspirations… Readers like you! My love for nature! And not to mention, Blog Action Day which actually prompt me to get off my butt and start writing!
